QUETTA: The Balochistan budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 that was set to be announced today will be unveiled now on June 21 (Tuesday) with a deficit of up to Rs 90 billion.
It has been officially informed that Budget meeting postponed for one day, Balochistan CM sends letter to acting governor to reschedule budget meeting.
Initially, the budget meeting was called on June 17 that was later rescheduled for today (June 20) and now the session once again saw rescheduling.
As per details, the salaries of the government employees are expected to increase by 15% like the federation and the province is likely to get Rs 530 billion in revenue.
Apart from this, no new tax is being included in the budget while 7,000 government jobs are also expected to be announced.
Earlier, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran said, in the budget, funds would be allocated to 65 constituencies of Balochistan Assembly on the basis of equality in order to ensure equal development in all the areas of the province.
He also said that the present provincial government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, would present its first budget, and it had been trying hard to make it a people-friendly and balanced budget with the aim to provide maximum relief to the people of Balochistan.
“Due to limited resources of Balochistan, the budget for the next financial year might project a small deficit but after the Reko Dik agreement by the present government, it would be in a position to present a better budget in the coming years.”
“We do not claim that we are going to end all the miseries of Balochistan in the upcoming budget, but our endeavor is to serve the people better than before,” he concluded.
