Crackdown by Police on PTI leaders ahead of long march

LAHORE: Punjab Police have launched a crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership ahead of the long march announced by PTI chief Imran Khan.

As per details, Punjab police have conducted raids in different cities to arrest PTI workers and leaders including Lahore, Rajanpur, Khanewal, and other areas.

Ahead of PTI’s long march on May 25, PTI leader Hammad Azhar’s residence was surrounded by the police to arrest him and other PTI members.

A crackdown by police in Rajanpur resulted in the arrest of PTI leaders Abid Sukhera, Wajid Sukhera and Imran Sattar.

Multiple raids have been reported from different areas of Karachi too and PTI leaders Saif ur Rehman, Atta Ullah Khan were arrested.

Not only this, a number of other raids were conducted at the residences of PTI workers in Sindh.

PTI leader Asad Umar in a tweet said that illegal arrests, raids on houses, and trampling of walls. The result of all this is that the enthusiasm and passion of the workers and the people is even higher.

“Imported government looks scared,” he added.

Notably, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has called the nation for a long march on May 25 to peacefully protest against the incumbent government.

The announcement was made during a press conference on Sunday where the PTI chief urged the nation to come out on the roads and join the march in Islamabad to seek real independence.
