Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that announcement of new elections has been started behind the curtain.
In a tweet released on the social networking site Twitter, Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid wrote that delays in political decisions could plunge the country into a dilemma. Turning the National Security Council into a political battleground is a conspiracy to push the military into politics, he further added.
In the aforementioned tweet, Sheikh Rashid writes that the country has not come out of the shock of mistrust, addition to which will make the crisis more severe.
Mr Sheikh said that the no-confidence motion has given birth to a government with one-vote unity, whereas Imran Khan has also united the nation and prepared it for all kinds of situations. He said that today Prime Minister and the Chief Minister both were in the court of law for the corruption case. He further claimed that it is hard to say that there is no government in Punjab.
Sheikh Rashid added that domestic and foreign powers are unaware of the ground realities, and behind-the-scenes work has begun on the formation of a caretaker government and the announcement of new elections.
Earlier Sheikh Rashid claimed that discussions have been underway to hold the next general election in Pakistan.
Incumbent governments wanted to resolve the issue with mutual understanding or by Judo Karate, and the issue of elections should be finalised as soon as possible, he added.
