FM Bilawal Bhutto condemns blasphemous comments by BJP leaders

Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday condemn highly derogatory comments by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) representatives about Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Bilawal Bhutto shared a Tweet on his social networking site Twitter, where he slated two senior officials of India’s ruling party BJP for giving unacceptable repugnant & derogatory remarks about the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

He said it is unacceptable, hurting the sentiments of billions of Muslims around the world. He added that it is time for international community to stop the ‘Hindutva’ inspired Islamophobia in India.

Whereas Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan on Sunday shared a press release where they condemn BJP leaders’ inappropriate comments. The release was:

“Pakistan condemns in the strongest possible terms, the highly derogatory remarks recently made by two senior officials of India’s ruling party BJP, that disrespect the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).”

“These unacceptable remarks have not only deeply hurt the sentiments of the people of Pakistan but of billions of Muslims around the world.”

“BJP’s attempted clarification and belated and perfunctory disciplinary action against these individuals cannot assuage the pain and anguish they have caused to the Muslim world. “

“Muslims residing in India are equally outraged by the completely repugnant comments by the two BJP officials. The ensuing communal violence in Kanpur and other parts of India bears testimony to this fact.”

On the other hand, Muslim countries have taken strong exception to derogatory remarks made against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by leaders of India’s ruling BJP, with Qatar, Kuwait and Iran summoning India’s envoy to register their protest.

Qatar has sought a public apology from India for allowing such “Islamophobic” views without retribution.

Kuwait, in a statement, said it had handed over an “official protest note expressing the State of Kuwait’s categorical rejection of statements against the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Islam and Muslims issued by one of the officials in the ruling party.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned hurtful comments by India’s BJP leaders about Holy Prophet Mohammad Peace Be Upon Him (PBUH).

In a series of tweets on Sunday night, he said that India, under a Modi-led fascist regime, is trampling religious freedoms and persecuting Muslims.
