ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to take exceptional measures due to soaring costs of energy.
As per details, the working group set up by the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent the recommendations to annually save $1.
The recommendations include 7 key proposals including “Vehicle-free on Sunday” proposal for the major cities to save energy costs.
It was suggested to collect double toll tax from the vehicles with only drivers on motorways. While suggestions were also made to reduce speed limits on motorways and highways.
Not only this, the group also recommended to allow entry of vehicles on alternate days on highways and to oblige provinces to conduct annual inspection of motor vehicles.
Recommendation of strict ban on handling of public and private affairs during day time was also presented. The implementation of proposals is essential to curb costly energy and pressure on foreign exchange reserves.
