Kasuri Fish Gravy Recipe

Ingredients

1. Fish fillets (Surmai/King fish) 750g
2. Water 3-4 Cups
3. Sirka (Vinegar) 2 tbs
4. Dahi (Yogurt) whisked ½ Cup
5. Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tsp or to taste
6. Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
7. Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
8. Dhania powder (Coriander powder) ½ tsp
9. Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tsp
10. Cooking oil 3-4 tbs
11. Rai dana (Mustard seeds) 1 tsp
12. Methi dana (Fenugreek seeds) 1 tsp
13. Curry patta (Curry leaves) 14-15
14. Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tsp
15. Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
16. Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tsp or to taste
17. Dhania powder (Coriander powder) ½ tsp
18. Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
19. Hari mirch (Green chillies) 3-4
20. Kasuri methi (Dried fenugreek leaves) 1 tsp

Directions

1. In a bowl,add king fish fillets,water,vinegar,mix well and let it rest for 15-20 minutes then strain & set aside.
2. In a bowl,add yogurt,red chilli powder,salt,turmeric powder,coriander powder,ginger garlic paste & whisk well.
3. Add fish fillets and mix well,cover & marinate for 30 minutes.
4. In a wok,add cooking oil,mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds,curry leaves & mix well.
5. Add ginger garlic paste & mix well.
6. Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,coriander powder,salt,mix well and cook for a minute.
7. Add marinated fish & marinade & cook on medium flame for 6-8 minutes & turn sides in between,cover & cook for 8-10 minutes.
8. Slit green chillies with the help of knife.
9. In a wok,ad green chillies,dried fenugreek leaves,cover & simmer on low flame for 2-3 minutes. -Serve with roti or rice!
