ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Information & Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the foreign funding case should also be treated the same way as the case of disqualification of dissident Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member was dealt with.
She was addressing a press conference in response to the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to de-seat the dissident members.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the foreign funding case has been facing delays for the last 8 years and urged the authorities to pass a verdict in the case as immediately as it was done in the disqualification case.
She commented on the PTI leadership that the leaders of the political party had been abusing the courts and the election commission previously.
“PTI members and Imran Khan, in essence, were calling names and cursing the judiciary and electoral body and now after the decision, they have been lauding them,” she added.
She also underscored that the decision laid no impact on the coalition government and the de-seating of the 25 members would cost the incumbent government nothing.
Marriyum Aurangzeb maintained that the 25 dissident members have de-seated the PTI government from politics in actual.
She suggested the PTI leadership not celebrate the decisions by saying that it is time for them to mourn.
