Mongolian Beef Recipe

Ingredients

STEP 1:

1. Beef Julienne ½ kg (Undercut only)
2. Corn Flour 3-4 tbs
3. Oil 1/2 Cup
4. Salt ½ tsp
STEP 2:

1. Dried Red Chilies OR Red Button Chillies 3-4
2. Oil 2-3 tbsp
3. Dark Soya Sauce 2 tbsp
4. Ginger chopped 1 tsp
5. Hoisin Sauce 2-3 tbsp
6. Brown Sugar 2 tsp
7. Salt to taste or 1 tsp
8. Water ¼ cup
9. Green Onion (White part chopped) 2 tbsp
10. Green Onions Green part chopped 3 tbsp
11. Slurry (Water ¼ Cup + 1 tbsp Corn Flour)
12. Sesame Seeds for Garnishing
13. Black Pepper ¼ tsp or to taste

Directions

DIRECTIONS:

1. Coat the beef with corn flour & salt and leave it for 15-20 mins. Later stir fry in oil and set aside.
2. Heat the oil in a pan and add chopped ginger, chili buttons/dried chilies and spring onion white part and Stir for 1-2 min.
3. Mix well and then add water, hoisin sauce, dark soya sauce and lastly brown sugar. Once well combined add the slurry and keep mixing with spatula/spoon till thickens. Add beef and mix
4. Add green part of spring onion in last and give a last mix. Sprinkle sesame seeds
5. Serve with rice of your choice OR with glass noodles. Homemade Hoisin Sauce:
6. Soya Sauce 4 tbsp
7. Peanut Butter 2 tbsp
8. Honey 1 tbsp.
9. Rice vinegar 2 tsp
10. Garlic paste 1 tsp
11. Sesame oil 2 tsp
12. Hot sauce 1 ½ tsp
13. Black pepper powder ¼ tsp or to taste
14. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl with whisk.
15. Use for recipe and reserve rest in fridge for next 1 week.
