LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairperson Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Wednesday said that his department is not an extension of any political party or institution.
In his visit to the anti-graft body’s Lahore office, NAB chief was briefed over the developments on TT reference, Aashiyana Iqbal reference, Ramzan Sugar Mill reference, Eden Housing Scandal, Pak-Arab Housing Society case and Paragon Society case.
The NAB chief directed the provincial team to nominate less witnesses in view of ensuring timely logical conclusions of the trials.
The department’s city chief informed that as many as Rs88 billion have been recovered by the department within the last four years – Rs77 billion came through indirect recovery while the rest completed through direct recovery.
The NAB chief, speaking on the occasion, expressed his confidence over the performance and said that the cases present on trial have been prepared on the basis of strong evidence.
