ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said in an interview with foreign media that the toppling of his government under a conspiracy came as an embarrassment for the nation.
Imran Khan opined that since oust of his government the country’s economy plummeted adding that the PTI-led government was striving hard to strengthen the democratic institutions.
While touching on his visit to Russia, the former premier said that the stakeholders were in favour of the visit terming it as a crucial one for Pakistan.
“Pakistan needed Russia for economic assistance, we were getting oil from Russia at a 30% discount” he added.
PTI chief underscored that it is high time for Pakistan to battle the scourge of economic decline in the country that needs immediate improvement.
Earlier, former prime minister on Tuesday vowed to challenge the recently-passed National Accountability (Amendment) Bill 2022 in the Supreme Court.
“I will challenge the amendments to NAB law in the Supreme Court this week. This new law is disrespect to the nation and the country,” he said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.
The ouster prime minister called for throwing incumbent rulers behind bars for “shamelessly” passing the amendments in the NAB laws which would promote corruption and money laundering in the country.
