More than 80% of parts of Karachi have fallen into the dark after the Extra High Tension (EHT) Line crash in Jamshoro reportedly cut off the provincial capital on the national grid.
According to the data, 2 out of 3 power stations, 80% of the grid stations, and 1400 of the 1900 K-Electric suppliers have closed following disconnection from the national grid an hour or more ago.
Residents of Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Liaquatabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Clifton, Defense, and many different areas reported that the power went out between 4:10 and 4:20 PM.
Speaking to the news channel, K-Electric spokesman Imran Rana confirmed the reports of power outages in many parts of the city.
Imran said K-Electric was monitoring the situation, adding that all its teams were working to restore power as soon as possible.
He pointed out that all K-Electric power stations are in island mode which will help restore electricity to the provincial capital within a short period of time.
