Shutdown in IIOJK tomorrow against conviction of Yasin Malik in fake case

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed tomorrow against the conviction of illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a concocted case by a notorious National Investigation Agency court.

Call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and is fully supported by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and other civil society organizations including traders and students unions.

JKLF chairman Yasin Malik was convicted by an NIA court on Thursday in a manifestly dubious and motivated case, filed against him by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2017.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the international community, the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to play their role in saving the life of illegally detained Kashmiri pro-freedom leader implicated in concocted and politically motivated charges by the Modi regime.

Delhi court on Thursday found Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik guilty of terror-funding allegations after he pleaded guilty to all counts, including those under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, on Tuesday (UAPA).

Following the allegations, the court ordered Yasin to file an affidavit disclosing all of his sources of income and declaring all of his assets.

The court also ordered the Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate Yasin’s financial position in order to determine the appropriate penalties to impose. On May 25, the sentence will be handed out.
